Johnson & Johnson is now accepting global application for the 2020 Women in STEM (WiSTEM2D) Scholars Award effective September 3 through October 3, 2019. The Award is a $150,000 grant aimed at supporting women pursuing research in STEM2D (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing & Design).
According to the Johnson & Johnson website, each year, these STEM D grants are awarded to an assistant or associate academic professors worldwide, one in each of the STEM2D disciplines. The successful recipients, gain access to $50,000 each year for three years — along with three years of mentorship from STEM2D professionals. Last year, more than 400 highly qualified applicants from across the world applied for the award.
Launched in June 2017, the award aspires to fuel development of female STEM2D leaders, and inspire career paths in STEM2D, by supporting the research of the awarded women in their respective fields as well as providing support at a pivotal moment in their academic careers, so they can continue to lead STEM2D breakthroughs in the future with limitless opportunities to change the trajectory of health for humanity.
